2 weeks away

With it being 2 weeks away I figured an update was only appropriate!  I have been crazy busy with training and working 2 jobs.  Janurary came and went with nothing to huge happening.  The hubby graduated A school in the middle of the month and is working weird hours which I am still not used too.  I interviewed for a few different jobs and finally accepted a new job as of today.  I am still working at American Eagle and I was just promoted at Victoria's Secret.  As for training goes I am right on pace to run the Princess half in under 3 hours.  Plus my Team in Training events have started up and we are now getting to work on training for my second half of 2013 the Nike Women's in Washington DC in April.  I will update more often as we get even closer to the Princess half!

Here's to 2013

With 2013 only hours away... I figured I would update my blog after a month of nothing!  I am going to start off 2013 with a list of new years resolutions.

2013 New Years Resolutions

~ Run to the moon (Im running it as part of a worldwide project): My part is 1000 miles in 2013.










~ Complete the Disney Princess Half Marathon in under 3 hours (13 min 40 sec per mile pace)- February

~ Complete the Nike Women's Half Marathon in DC through Team in Training in under 2.5 hours (11 min 25 sec per mile pace)- April

~ Complete the Dumbo Double Dare (A 19.3-mile adventure held over two days, participants will run the Disneyland® 10K on Saturday, followed by the Disneyland® Half Marathon on Sunday) - September 
*** This would also earn me my Coast to Coast medal***
 

~ Drink Shakeology everyday!





~ No more COCA COLA









~ Drink more WATER










My goals are health related but Im making getting healthy and staying healthy a habit!  There are other things I want for 2013 such as continuing to grow my relationship with my husband but he is my biggest cheerleader in getting healthy.  So here is to 2013 and getting healthy!

Long Run

This morning I did my long run for the week.  I ran through the wooded part of base and it was a beautiful morning for it, got a little hot towards the end.  I love that they keep parts like this open to us!


I also had to walk the last 2 miles because my hands had gotten so swollen and stiff.  I think its water retention so off to Walgreens I go to see what I can find.  I also came home to my hubby which never happens but he got a long lunch break.  Well gotta go hubby made me pasta for lunch!

Also dumb me figure out that my mile ticker only does the most recent distance, Ill have to find one that keeps a running total!

Weekend off!

So even though my runkeeper tracker hasn't recorded it, I have been running on the treadmill at the gym.  I don't get a GPS signal in the gym so it doesn't know I am moving.  I have been getting in the spirit by watching Disney movies all weekend!  I also have mapped out a 7 mile run for tomorrow and then I updated my playlist.  Not much happening other than that, it feels good to be running again!

Getting started..

So after a month of not running due to doctors orders because of "over use", I am FINALLY back at it and man was it hard to get going again.  I know I have less than 90 days to the Princess but I didn't think it would be so hard to get going again.  I not only started back running but I am consciously watching what I eat and my goal for the next 2 weeks is to drink Shakeology every day.  2 days in and I am doing well so far.

I sit here inside as its raining knowing I still need to do my run :(  I cant seem to find the motivation to run in this crap... but I NEED too!!

Yesterday, with day 1 running I did 1.6 miles in 22 mins... ROUGH!  That breaks down to a 14 min mile, and for not running in a month I have lost all progress made :(  On the bright side it is still faster than I did my last half marathon.  My last half marathon I did at a little over a 15 min mile pace.

Ok time to get up off the comfy couch and go run in the rain :)

A little late

For those of you that don't know I have once again challenged myself to run a half marathon.  The difference this time is I WILL be training.  Last time I managed to make up every excuse in the book not to train, this time it will be different.  My hope is that this will help hold me accountable and keep me motivated through the training.  I am 2 weeks behind in training but I can make that up.  

So once again here goes nothing.  My ultimate goal is to FINISH but I would love to be able to finish in under 3 hours.  That is a 13 min 45 sec mile pace.  That would be shaving a little less than 1.5 min per mile off from my last half.
